It Feels Right to Me
Curated by Mina Sarfaraz and Madeline Diaz
January 26 - February 13, 2024 Middendorf Gallery, Baltimore MD
It Feels Right to Me served as a call to action through diverse artistic expressions encompassing visual
arts, performance pieces, poetry, and more. It Feels Right to Me traversed love, chaos, and desire,
inviting viewers to examine the profundity of sharing passion and the transformative effects of this
exploration. The show echoed Audre Lorde's essay, Uses of the Erotic: The Erotic as Power. Working
from Lorde’s expansion of the bounds of the erotic to reach far beyond purely sexual, we invited artists
to join us on this collective journey to discover the transformative potential of redefining the way we
perceive and experience the erotic in the modern world.
“When we begin to live from within outward, in touch with the power of the erotic within
ourselves…we begin to be responsible to ourselves in the deepest sense.” (Lorde)
